As was tradition in the old country, the marriage was arranged by family members, in this case their family sponsors in America. Rose immigrated when she was 14, with her brother Giuseppe, from Carlentini, Sicily and was 23 in this photograph. Alfio immigrated from Lentini, Sicily.
