This coin, reading "Aletta & Alemagna," was good for one loaf of bread at the Salvatore Aletta & Co. grocery store in Little Italy. Josephine Lomeier recalls nine grocery stores being in Little Italy around this time. The business was opened in 1910 by Salvatore Aletta and Frank Alemagna, and was located on 1209 South 6th Street in Omaha, Nebraska. Salvatore's family lived in the back of the grocery store with his wife Maria and Maria's brothers. The grocery store closed in 1940, and Salvatore passed away in 1955.
